To honor former U.S. Presidents, the U.S. Mint has begun a program to issue special edition Presidential $1 coins. President George Washington is on the first coin released. In addition to individual $1 coins, special commemorative packaged coin sets are now available at all HACU offices for just $7.50 each. The John Adams coin is now available at all HACU offices. Four new coins will be released annually over the next 10 years, with Thomas Jefferson and James Madison finishing out 2007. The front of the coin features the President’s picture, name, and term served. The Statue of Liberty appears on the back. |
